Ideally situated in the unspoilt, picturesque little village of Zinal in the Valaisan Alps, our hotel is just 200m from the Zinal-Sorebois cable car.
Sporty and outdoor types will love the mountain biking trails (100km), footpaths (100km), downhill ski runs (250km), freeride area and cross-country ski trails (33km) that are all around Zinal.
A whole range of activities for young and old will delight the whole family during your stay in Anniviers.
Le Besso
The historic Hotel of Zinal
The Hotel Besso dates from 1890. “In Zinal, the pearl of the Val d’Anniviers, the Besso, a small hotel with 30 beds, founded by Mr. Benoît Crettaz. In an excellent location. Bed and Board from 6 to 9 frs.”
The Zinal Hotels Company was created in 1903 to manage the Grand Hotel des Diablons, Hotel Durand and the Hotel du Besso. In 1920 the hotel was sold to Joachim Theytaz. Period advertising for the hotel declared: “Zinal. Telephone 2. Hotel du Besso. Café-Restaurant. Cars and trucks available to transport travellers from Sierre to Ayer. Local specialties. Moderate prices. Guides. Bearers. Joachim Theytaz Guide-Owner.”

In this period of pandemic, and being anxious to always satisfy our customers,
we propose to you to move your stay, free of charge, in the next 12 months (within the limit of the availabilities):
- If a member of the booking has tested positive for the Coronavirus and needs to be isolated at the time of stay.
- If quarantine measures are in place to or from the destination.
- If a member of the booking is in quarantine following close contact with an infected person.
In these cases, official proof must be provided in order for the stay to be postponed.
